It's dawn, and the animals gather together for their morning trek. Giant green walking fish and snowy egret follow the scent of the lotus flower. The maestro, riding on the back of giant green walking fish is ready to conduct, with the sounds of nature as his orchestra. He recites a poem.

Background:
I continue to use the Brooklyn Rail newspaper as collage material and create poetry from the text. You can see most of the newspaper collage with the exception of what lies beneath the light blue rectangle (left side). If you are interested in reading the original articles, I have listed two of them below.
The Brooklyn Rail - March 2010
Waxing Ten: WaxFactory's Delirium 27 by Alan Lockwood
Quiet Riot by Margaret Eby
The painting originally started with no collage material. I was having trouble creating enough contrast between the animals and the blue background, so I added the newspaper collage. The poem was created next. I completed the painting, and wrote the short story about what the animals are doing.
