I like to circle or underline words within the newspaper collage that catch my attention. In this drawing, I went one step further creating a some abstract poetry with the circled and underlined words. You can see these better in the larger photo below:

Egyptian
He no longer really felt like walking through the door.
He really wanted to see her.
He had never figured out anything about her?

forget us?
Nothing's worth the trouble.
Why aren't we weeping?
Her dream was the most beautiful of all.

Artwork
The single voice of their creator.
It's context and circumstances render.
The sin to share on Tuesday.
His face covered in white in the final moment.

Yeah
Smoke some pot.
For like a month.
Or not.

The one-eyed person with the smoking torch is an Egyptian statue of liberty. It's symbolic of America's financial system and economy going up in smoke.

Above the poem called "Yeah" is a turtle with his tail emitting a signal. There was a news story a few months back about some scientists that were tracking some turtles using GPS. They went to Rock Creek Park to retrieve the turtle and found it in the middle of a marijuana field. I thought the turtle fit well with the poem.
