Dreaming of NYC

For the longest time, I didn't know what this painting was about. Then, an artist on MySpace posted a comment about it looking like a city at night. Another artist friend told me it looked like buildings or the city. After I thought about it, I realized it was a mix of California and New York. It was painted while living in CA, but I had been thinking about moving to NYC and also thinking of everything I would miss about CA. The fishes, bubbles, mountains, and sun are CA, and the buildings and moon are NY. Since my first visit to NYC in 2004, it has definitely been a dream to live here. In July 2007, my wife and I moved to Brooklyn, and so far we love it here.
